Southbound is a post-apocalyptic dark comedy musical epic.
Global warming and endless wars have decimated the planet as sea levels
have risen beyond all expectations. Only 5% of the UK’s population remain.
And following a particularly brutal pandemic, women outnumber
men by 5000:1.

At a former service station, now the heavily guarded border crossing of the
new capital city of Sheffield, an outcast group of women capture Society’s
most precious commodity – a man.

Inspired by the comedic abandon of Book of Mormon, the sisterhood
of Orange Is the New Black, and the twisted world of The Last of Us,
Southbound seeks to reset expectations of the stakes, scale and ambition of
stories told in musical theatre.
